At the end of April, Marshall Airport Cambridge officially took over the provision of Air Traffic Services at Coventry Airport in an exciting contract which will see Marshall manage all air traffic control, air traffic engineering and aeronautical ground lighting at the Midlands airport.

At Coventry Airport, air traffic control is currently provided in-house and this move to outsource the service is an integral part of the airport’s long term strategic development plan to upgrade and improve facilities on site. Coventry will benefit from Marshall’s broad airport management expertise – this year will see Marshall celebrate the 80th anniversary of the opening of its very own airport in Cambridge - and in recent years the company has also worked with many other UK airports including Blackpool, Inverness and Norwich.

The contract will cover the provision of air traffic management at Coventry for 5 years; this will secure many jobs at the airport, whilst creating 34 new positions under Marshall.

Airport Director Brian Cox said “Marshall Aerospace is a well respected company with a proven track record in the air traffic services field. I look forward to working closely with them and developing a long term relationship that will benefit both parties in the years ahead”.

Alan Siddoway, contract manager of Marshall’s Aviation Services business added “We are dedicated to providing the highest quality management, technical and support services to the aviation industry and see winning this contract as testament to our innovation in this field”.
